Hello folks of THF. I've been having problems with my getting my DRAM modules to run at their advertised 3600Mhz settings. Please see my setup below:

Memory: G.Skill Trident Z Neo (Hynix) DDR4-3600MHz CL16-19-19-39 1.35V 16GB (2x8GB); Link: https://bit.ly/2QTy69p
Motherboard: ASRock X570M Pro4; Link: https://bit.ly/2rYpuWu
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8c/16t @3.6Ghz with Precision Boost Overdrive

My end goal is to get my DRAM sticks to run at their factory speeds of 3600Mhz, however, I am running into issue when trying to run at speeds faster than 3333Mhz. I am not familiar with RAM overclocking, so I tried enabling the XMP profile which resulted in boot loops. Have also attempted to use Ryzen Dram Calculator software, but apparently the software is not updated to support Zen 2 yet.

I am looking for any suggestions on how I can get my ram to run at 3600Mhz stable, and which settings I should be using in my motherboard's BIOS to achieve this.

Factory speeds are more along the lines of DDR4-2133/2400MHz. What you're looking to do is get to advertised overclocked speeds. Did you make sure your motherboard is on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard? Did you then manually input the timings, frequency and voltage in BIOS?

Your RAM is not on the QVL list of your motherboard so its not guaranteed to work at 3600Mhz.

As of right now, I am running on the 1.90 BIOS for my motherboard. I have never updated it as other than getting the run to OC it has been stable. Additionally, I am currently running my DRAM speeds at 3200Mhz with base settings.

Probably a bit late but, I too have same ram and cpu but with an asus entry level 570 motherboard. I had the ram running successfully at the advertised specs however, once I upgraded the mb bios I couldn't run at the same ram spec without the bsod. Raising the cl value to 18 instead of 16 fixed the issue. Its still faster than reducing the ram speed to say 2400. Note, my cpu speed is comfortably running@4400mhz, have stressed tested these settings several times without a crash

My actual guess is it requires a better built motherboard

Manual OC? With what voltage if I may ask?

Your RAM is not on the QVL list of your motherboard so its not guaranteed to work at 3600Mhz.
Not entirely true. QVL list only encompasses the RAM kits that the board manufacturer was able to test, there are way too many kits to test them all. If there is an identically specced kit on the QVL list, then there's a high chance that the kit in question will also work.
