You can't just state you want to setup up a server, a server for what? They have many functions they can do. First get your specs together then work on how to configure it.
I'd hire someone to work with then. If you never have set one up, who is going to support it when issues happen? Figuring out problems is usually much harder than just putting in a setup disk and clicking "Next". The company is willing to have someone configure a server who has never done it before? Bit dangerous to do that unless it's something that is not really used for a business need.
