Best card for 1024 768 res.

hi everyone pls suggest me best graphics card for 1024 768 res for my crt monitor i will play games at this res only. and the card should be powerful one so i can play all the future newer games at the same res. i will buy a good power supply and a cpu for it. i havin a m2n sli deluxe board and 3 gb ram.
the card should be a good performance and powerful for the future games.my res would be the same at 1024 768. appreciations.

Before you order a card, get a CPU. With that CPU, you will get a bottleneck and you really still won't get good performance. If you get a CPU, and then the GPU, you will see much more performance.

Yes, get a CPU first, or it will bottleneck. Grab an Athlon II X4 @ 3.1Ghz and a hd6850 and then you should not have bottlenecks and your system shoud run pretty strong. By the way, I think you wanted 2gb more RAM, right. What is speed, brand, CAS, and name of the module of RAM you have now. I can help you pick some out.

Well, I mean, it will only probably burn down your house, then Russia would nuke Chine, the UK would nuke Russia, America would nuke the UK, and then the whole entire world would explode by a asteroid shower.... Besides that, nope, nothing would happen.... JUST KIDDING!!!!!!! Yeah, as long as you have a PCI-E slot you should be fine. So, get two more gigs of RAM, one hd6850, and a Athlon II X4 @ 3.1Ghz and you would be set.

So, in the end, get 4gb 800Mhz, hd6850, and an AMD Athlon II X4 @ 3.1Ghz. Also, do some OCing, it will be like free performance.

TigerDirect is WAAAAYYYYYYY over-priced though. Buy from Newegg. Don't get the 3.1Ghz actually, it costs an extra $9 which you don't need to spend.

Yes, that would be fine, but don't forget to OC it. @ stock it is not 'slow', but not fast either. I think you could get 3.3Ghz+ with an OC. Without an OC, I would stick with the Athlon II X4 3.0Ghz.

are you still talking about 1024x768 ? If yes then i think HD 6850 is not necessery.

is the only difference between phenom II 9xx and 8xx l3 cache?

most of games will run good on this resolution with a cheaper card like 5670. that's my opinion
