I have a Gigabyte GA-7N400 pro motherboard and am looking to get some ram for it, I read a bit about dual channel DDR400 from Gigabytes webby but am still a bit confused as to what is the best Ram for this board. Can anyone help?
I'm looking to have about 1gig of ram or maybe 2 if i can afford it, is it worth it and exactly what Ram do I need, Im buying from the UK if that makes any difference.
Many thx from this illiterate PC user.

What are you planning to do? eg. games, work etc...
You dont really need 2gb of Ram. waste of $$$.
I would go for Corsair or Kingston coz their reliable but im not sure if its the best ram for the board. Hope that helps.

I'm planning games mainly.
I'd just like to add I ran Sandra and she came up with this for my existing Ram

"Memory Module(s)
Memory Module 2 : Micron 16VDDT6464AG-335C2 211EA20B 512MB 16x(32Mx8) DDR-SDRAM PC2700U-2533-700 (CL2.5 up to 167MHz) (CL2 up to 133MHz)
Memory Module 3 : Micron 16VDDT3264AG-335B1 1B1A3D99 256MB 16x(16Mx8) DDR-SDRAM PC2700U-2533-700 (CL2.5 up to 167MHz) (CL2 up to 133MHz)"

Is this Ram ok? Why I ask is that it says "up to 133MHz"
I guess I'm just trying to find out if better Ram will improve things greatly for the system. And if so what should I look for?

Thx again

First thing for dual channel you want them matching, both 512MB or both 256MB. Next what is your FSB at?

Please dont tell me you think crucial is seriously the best memory make? OCZ, kingston, geil, ocz and a few other companys all do memory which is faster, supports better timmings and has a lifetime warrenty.

P4c 2.6@3.25
512Mb PC4000
2x120Gb 7200.7 in RAID0
Waterchill KT12-L30
Abit AI7
Radeon 9800Pro

OCZ is there twice in your list so its obviously the best =)
OCZ = great performance, nicely price and super stable plus their warranty cover over-volting to a certain extend sweet.
Geil is nice to for the price.
