Hi guys, im having a little bit of a mental breakdown now ....

so i have ryzen 5 2600 with gtx 980 ,12 gb ram on 2660 mhz etc..

long story short OLD HARDWARE

so i was thinking of upgrading it slowly but firstly i wanted to buy a new gpu and i found a used 3070 for $150 but then i realized i need a much better cpu and now with bottleneck calculator i CANNOT FIND ANY CPU THAT WORKS WITH THIS GPU BELOW 500$??????????????????????????????????????????

are there any kind people that can help me and throw some common budget combos for 1440p high gaming and 3d modeling workstation if this makes any sense what i just said ..

thank you

"bottleneck"
Remove that term from your brain.

Adding in a better part does not result in worse performance.

Something better than your current GTX 980.....better performance.
Changing just the GPU, you get to increase the eyecandy, while keeping the same framerate.

There is no such thing as "bottlenecking"
If, by that, you mean that upgrading a cpu or graphics card can
somehow lower your performance or FPS.
A better term might be limiting factor.
That is where adding more cpu or gpu becomes increasingly
less effective.
And... the bottleneck calculator is considered as junk science, if not malware.

Try this simple test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

What is the make/model of your motherboard?
Any cpu/motherboard/psu that can support a GTX980 should also run a GTX3070
