Hi everyone, just bought a used Asus G750JM laptop for quiet cheep 350$ approx. And the guy said that he reset windows but when i made an account and logged in i got a "Packard Bell" wallpaper and it just looks weird and my connection is not working. I think i might of gotten screwed over or something. I've never seen this "Packard Bell" before so i googled it and it seems like it's a manufacturer that produces recycled parts or something. Do you guys have any clue of what's going on here? Any input would be appreciated, thank you.

Seems like the Windows setup or system restore was done for a Packard Bell system not for Asus. Or they simply liked Packard Bell and set that as the wallpaper.
For this connection you are talking about, go into Device Manager and check if everything is installed there without errors. You may just need to install the drivers for your system. You can always check with whoever you bought it from how this Windows setup was done and have them re-do it properly with all drivers installed.

Ok, thank you guys so much for all your replies, I'm so grateful to you all. I installed an Ethernet driver so managed to use a wired connection. I messaged the seller and he was confused about the Packard Bell system and he said that he did reset the system how it should be reset. He also said that he has reset the system a few times over the past 5 years of using the computer and it would always install windows 10 home. So now i'm just upgrading it to Windows 10 home from Windows 8 and hopefully that should fix it.

There should be branding on the system, along with a serial number to identify it. When it boots, it also should have the original manufacturer's logo (during POST, before loading Windows).

What exactly do you mean by, "it looks weird" and "my connection is not working"?
It does show a "Republic of Gamers" logo.
