I recently received a Dell XPS 13 here at my shop. They indicated it was not usable with a "no boot device found" error (or something similar). Apparently they first gave it to a "techie" family member to fiddle with but was returned with new cosmetic damage and the same issue.
When I first received it, I tried to boot to a Linux live disc but could not because of some security features in the bios. Come to find out the BIOS is locked and nothing can be changed. Of course the EU didn't have any idea what I was talking about....so I looked inside the unit to try and locate pins/jumpers I was unable to clear the BIOS/password - using my experience and service manual and research. :-(
This is the newest of the new XPS 13s and here is a pic of the area I suspect needs to be tinkered with to achieve my goals.
Can someone instruct me on what to do or point me in the right directions for documentation on this?! I've pretty much exhausted all my known resources. Thank u.
Please check out the pic in the link below....thanks.
