I am trying to decide on components for a rebuild of my existing computer. I have a good rack mount case. I like my Razer mouse and Logitech buletooth keyboard. I have two recent ESATA2 drives. So I think that I will be upgrading mobo, cpu, psu, memory.
I want to work with large digital images, maybe some 3d rendering and video. Don't play games on a pc. I would like the vid card to output to my hd projector.
Tentatively I have decided on the following components:
EVGA 512-P3-N862-AR GeForce 9600GT Superclocked 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
$159 after rebate.
Concerned that this outputs to S-video and has a cable that converts to component HDTV. I determined this from the pictures.

Some questions were raised by a review who said this psu is not compatible with some mobos -- because you can't connect both 8-pin and 4-pin at the same time.
Cannot determine if the mobo I have chosen has both an 8-pin AND a 4-pin.

Would also like to know if there is any significant performance improvement going to the next level of components and what these might be?
Your input greatly appreciated!
