Ok, I'm looking to buy an interim card. Something to get me by until Doom 3 comes out. Then of course I'll drop the big bucks on whatever is newest.

What I'm looking at is a Gainward GF4 4200 w/64 megs ram or a GF3 TI200 w/128 megs ram. The GF3 is a bit cheaper and I like the idea of an extra 64 mages of ram, but I don't know if it's actually a better deal or not? I do plan on overclocking. Any suggestions? Thanks

If this:
GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GeForce 4 Ti 4200, 3.5ns, 64MB DDR. < CRT ONLY. > No DVI, No TV-Out. Retail - $159

is what you were looking at, then I'd probably go for that. The extra 64MB of RAM may sound good, but in real life situations, it really won't do you much good. With that 3.5ns RAM, that'll get you to 570MHz almost guaranteed. The GF4 includes many new improvements over the GF3.

My firewall tastes like burning. 😱
