Some time ago I started a thread here asking about buzzing sound which started coming from my laptop after I owned it for two years.
In short, the buzzing starts when the laptop has been in use for about half an hour and is definitely associated with CPU usage, because it starts sometime after I reach CPU usage over ~15%, and fades away soon after I take the usage down to ~5-10%. I couldn't notice any other possible connection with any other component.
I was advised to clean the cooling fans as those were the most likely culprits. So I took my laptop to the specialist and he cleaned the fan + replaced the thermal paste.
But the buzzing still appears. The thing is, the CPU temperatures have dropped, so the cooling must be working better, and I do believe the buzzing takes longer to appear and disappears more easily. But it persists nonetheless.
To be perfectly honest, the buzzing isn't distracting, it's very quiet, I'd compare it to quiet snoring, just constant. Sometimes the air running through the funs is louder than the buzzing. I don't really care this much about eliminating the sound, as I just want to know for sure if the buzzing is an indication of some problem that needs to be fixed before it's too late, or if it's harmless and can be ignored.
So basically that is my question, should I ignore the buzzing now that I know that cooling is not an issue, or should I look for the cause because it might be serious? The buzzing only started appearing after good two years of the laptop being used, it wasn't there from the start.
My laptop: Acer Aspire v17 Nitro 791G.
