Question Can’t boot from USB to install Windows

Hi,

I’ve just help my friend built his first PC but when I’ve come to boot from the USB with the Windows Setup on it I keep getting the “Insert Boot Media” screen. I’ve tried reinstalling it, different usbs and even an external HDD but still no luck? Any ideas?

Mobo: Gigabyte H110M-S2H
CPU: i3 6100
GPU: 1050 Ti
PSU: 500W
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 2666mhz

Is USB set as a boot drive from your motherboard? Look for boot order or something along those lines in your BIOS, and make sure to set USB to the top.

I’ve thought of doing that however on boot of the pc I can’t f12 or anything to get into the bios!?

As soon as you press the power button on your PC, rapidly press and release the Delete key o your keyboard. I believe that is the correct one for your motherboard.

That's weird. Try unplugging your PC, taking the CMOS battery out, holding the power button down for about 10 seconds, putting the battery back in then plugging the pc back in. Will it boot to the USB or at least let you get to the BIOS when you press delete?
