I've just got my hands on an RTX 3080Ti, however I've only got a 750W Corsair RM750x.
Judging from the TDP of my CPU and new GPU, there isn't really a way for my system to go over 750W as far as I would know.
If my system were to crash due to power limits, could this damage the card?
Also, can my system, if it were to be defect in some way, damage the card?

Here are my other relevant components:
  • Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake
  • ASUS ROG Strix Z270F
  • G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3200MHz 16GB
  • 5x fans including air cooled CPU
  • 2x M.2, 2x 3.5" 7200RPM SSHDs
Thank you

Solution
Any kind of fault, power or otherwise, could damage your new card.
You do what you can to prevent issues, but no system is 100% safe or free of faults of some kind. There is always some (minimal) amount of risk.
