Question Can't copy from Sandisk flash drive to PC

I have a 128GB Sandisk Ultra Flair USB 3.0 flash drive that I'm storing some files on.
The problem is I can't copy those files from it to my PC. I can normally open the files view them and do everything on the drive, and even delete them. But when I try to copy them to my PC the copying rapidly slows to 0 B/s and the flash drive itself gets very hot.

I tried repairing the drive using Windows error checking utility, but it said there were no errors.
I tried "chkdsk /f" and it said it found some problems and fixed them, but still can't copy.
I tried "chkdsk /r" but it stops after a few seconds as well and the flash also gets very hot.

What could the problem be? And what else I could try to fix it? I prefer to better be able to get the files not format (at least I leave it as the last resort).

Your drive is dead or dying.
Toss it, and recover the files from your backup.
