One quick question since nobody wants to answer my other post.Do chipset drivers actually improve performance.Someone told me this:
“Chipset drivers shouldn’t be touched no, those are the drivers for your motherboard. Unless you are installing some new hardware like a new cpu or gpu that requires a higher version of your motherboard then you will need to update it. In this case no don’t touch it your computer is already operating fine.”
So what do you guys get from that?

Should I start another thread, stay here, or pms?

Na, continue with this thread, the information is here. Take a break and review this thread again and see the posts linking to your Asus motherboard for the drivers and Nvidia.

Oh.I was thinking how can a reset give me oerformance boost?

Well because of that program you used and whichever else you've done, resetting may help straightening out your operating system. If it was me, i would do a complete fresh reinstall setting up an usb stick and do it properly. I linked how to do that earlier in this thread. The guide i linked to is in Windows 10 section; How to do a clean install.

And I didnt use that program.Someone used it for me(like I said I was a total moron)talked to a pc specialist on twitter and he said it was safe if you knew what you where doing. And he knew.He disabled alot of stuff not needed. After the windows update everything was enabled again,my wallpaper changed from IbuyPower to original windows wallpaper

It's only a computer, don't forget that :)

Your dad will probably help dude. Just say its gone to crap cant figure it out. Don't worry, you'll get it.

First reset the pc and see how that goes. Afterwards, check Windows updates for any more updates. After that install chipset driver from Asus. Don't worry about any other drivers at the moment.

Once that's done, install latest Geforce driver.

Do this first and only this.

Thanks.Im worried about myself rn.To much stress can cause serious health problems and really dont want that(been having nausea, headesches and teeth pain.Just talked to my dad through text since he isnt home rn.Youre making me feel more relaxed.

Thank you for everything man. Will update.Benchmarked and everything seemed fine. Its just probably the game.It has been like 1 week like this acording to my research. After they fix it I will see if Its my pc or the game.Going to PM you to continue.🙂

No worries good luck. I came across another thread last night about similar issues in Fortnite. Game played well for the quite some time then all of a sudden it went to shait. So looks like you may not be the only one. If that's the case hopefully its a significant problem and the game gets fixed quickly. Thats if it's the game. Can't be 100% sure but yeah, a good amount of suspension.

I wanted to add something about chipset drivers, since I didn't see it mentioned.
Chipset is a generic term used for specific things. Your gpu uses a chipset, and you will update that periodically. Mostly that's game optimizations, the core drivers haven't changed in a while. But here's the catch. Those core drivers are specific for that chipset. You can use Windows drivers just fine, it has basic generic drivers, but if you want maximum performance tailored to that chipset then you will need the nvidia/amd driver set.

Your mobo is no different. Lan, audio, pcie, Sata, USB, Intel management engine and others all have specific chips on the mobo. The chipset drivers you get from the motherboard support site are specific for those controllers, chips, etc. You can use Windows generic, but to get the best results will require the specific drivers.

Just like gpu drivers, those chipset drivers are updated, almost always directly after one of Windows quarterly major updates. This'll continue until the mobo is no longer supported, unless the vendor is nice, like MSI, and they'll provide support for affected drivers if Windows messes them up.

Yeah.I was seeing the chipset driver on my MOBO and the latest one was released 3 days ago.Should I update?

Oh ok.Im not 100% sure but I think I got latest chipset. Also, before I had updated to windows 1903,I had auto updates off.And if I have latest chipset version and if I install again. Will the driver break or something?
