For which device? Code 10 can be different for each hardware device.

code 10 error is shown on dvd writer and a dvd player, both have these have
been removed from the computer, they both show on the start and in the bois,
but there is no trace of them in my computer, the only drives showing there
is, A drive or floppy and C drive, hard disk, the os system has removed a
card reader, which used to be disk F, is there a way this can be solved
without formating as i have no way of copying any info on the system without
D E or F drive ?? cheers kevin

Code 10 usually means that a driver tried to start but failed.
Then usually the driver leaves an event log message that describes the error.
