i have asus p5b deluxe and i wanted to ask u guys a question
i am thinking of buying 1gb corsair xms2 ddr2 800 (SINGLE STICK NOT A KIT). now my question is that if i buy 1gb stick now and 1gb later and then later till i get 4gb of it, will my motherboard support this or do i have to buy 2 kits of 2gb inorder to run them in dual channel mode? Hope to hear from u soon. Thanks.

It's recommended that you buy all your RAM at once so that they are as similar as possible.
Over the production life of a DIMM model the actual modules used may change (e.g. look at how many different versions of Corsair XMS3200 there are) giving them different characteristics.
If you get them 6 months apart the chances are that they are going to be different which makes life harder for the memory controllers.
