Hello, this question is for people who own this psu, since i found it in my local store at a good price.

Since i do not like RGB, my question is, can i turn OFF the RGB lights permamently?
I read the online manual and there is a button in the back, pressing it several times i can choose the OFF preset, but is this setting saved even if i unplug the power cord, or everytime i boot my pc i need to set it to OFF everytime?

I asked Corsair support but they do not know since they said that this unit is discontinued and out of stock. -_-

Thank you if someone can help me. I want to buy it because it's cheap atm and is a good unit.

You're probably out of luck.

If you don't want to leave your PC running in standby mode and you cannot position the case so the lights aren't visually instrusive, the only other (undesirable) option is to open up the PSU (invalidating the warranty) and cut the LED wires inside the fan. You might even have to replace the whole fan, if it's impossible to disconnect the LEDs.

Numerous people will warn about the danger of messing about inside switched mode power supplies, citing the danger of lethal mains voltages and residual charge stored on the 400V bulk capacitor, but if you're a qualified electronics engineer, you already know what precautions to take. If not, don't open the case!

More importantly, how badly do you want to stop the annoying lights from shining? Enough to invalidate the warranty? At least one screw on most ATX PSUs is covered by a tamper proof label, which fragments when you try to remove it carefully with a scalpel. Once this label is gone, so is your warranty.

The best option might be to reposition the computer out of sight, or learn to ignore the flashing lights. You could buy a different less gaudy PSU if the thought of lights is annoying. Do you have another PC you can swap PSUs over from? Perhaps the CX650 is not such a bargain after all.

Well, i give up since nobody seems to know and for what i understand there is no way to turn it off since is better to leave the psu in standby to increase its lifespan, so i will buy another Seasonic even if is 30 eur more expensive. I have already a Seasonic gx-650 in my main and is ok, good brand.

But apparently the lights come back on if you switch off the PSU at the wall and then power it back on again. This is what the OP was describing. I've never used this PSU so I'm relying on what other people say.

Yes, there's a button on the back of the PSU to turn on and off the RGB mode.
Yes, i know this, but what i ask is that if the presets are permamently, if they are saved, but for what i read is not the case, if you unplug the power cord the RGB lights same back by default, now this is something i don't do since is bad to unplug the power supply, but still is annoying.
Anyway, is my fault and i ask too much since is a RGB psu, so the purpose is to have RGB always on, it was just cheap on my loacal market.
