Hello Guys, First of all, sorry to post like this I know this may sound very frustrating but I am really confused right now about what should I do.

I mostly play Valorant and Destiny 2, Some AAA games from 2017-2020 ( As I could not play many titles at that time )

I use my pc to Work ( Remote Job and Games ) the config I have right now everything is going good not better or best I would say. It gets the job done but slightly stutters i feel in games

Now the part where it bothers me that should the upgrade really be worth it? I can upgrade CPU and Mobo as GPU is not possible so much higher price 2 X

This is my current config

Processor: i3 8100 (Corsair H45 Cooler)
Mainboard: Asrock 310M-M.2
GPU: Sapphire RX 580 8GB Nitro+
RAM: 16 GB 2400 Gskill
Storage : Transcend 250GB SSD , 3TB Toshiba HDD
PSU : Antec Neo Eco 550 Watt 80+ Bronze
Casing: Antec NX 100
Monitors : Asus TUF VG249Q (144hz), Benq GW2282 ( 60HZ)

Now even things going not bad, it kinda bothers me that I am still using a 4 core CPU I know I sound desperate but right now I have some cash around ( I am not that rich either and we all know the effect of covid how savings can help us in this desperate times) but I really need to make sure it will be worth it

If I upgrade I don't want to upgrade CPU + Mobo next 4-5 years at least

( Currency is in my country )
i5 11400 + ASUS b560 TUF costs = 32k
R5 5600X + Asus b550 TUF costs = 43k
i5 12600k + MSI Z690 (DDR4) costs = 58k
i7 11700 + Asus b560 TUF Costs = 48k

I need suggestions from experts there should I upgrade right now or wait 6 months or so as the number of games I have left to finish in steam it will take at least 1 year :(

Solution
Wait few months and get i5-12400 plus mobo. Prices unknown at the moment as they are not out on the market yet, but if looking for longevity for good price this will be most likely best shot by far. And as mentioned above your current GPU will hold you back whatever new setup you buy.
The RX580 is going to be your problem regardless of your CPU/mobo upgrade.
You could buy something like an i5-8600 used for around £100 UK GBP (you did not state which country you are in) which would give you 6 cores that might get you by until the GPU prices stabilise, then you would have another £400 to spend on a GPU later in a year or so and your 8th gen may well be just fine for another 2 or 3 years.

I am from Bangladesh. It's hard to get an 8600 now as I can get 10400 same prices used or new then I need a new mobo for 10th gen this is where I got stuck

people are not selling their 8400 / 8600 as you said 6 core giving enough support now

I have the plan to upgrade GPU once the price gets normal. I will probably get 3060 ti or 3070

even if I upgrade GPU in 2023 I want to make sure I have a good processor and mainboard as I don't upgrade things frequently

I bought i3 8100 and RX 580 back in January 2019

ok, I am also thinking this. Will it be a wise decision to move to DDR 5 along with 12400?

Currently no, the prices are too high. Few months from now, maybe. The plus side of staying with DDR4 is that you could reuse your current RAM (at least for some time). Sure it's not the fastest one but it will do for Intel build.

DDR5 32 GB 4800 mhz costs $80 more than ( i5 11400+ Asus TUF 560 combo ) so yeah absurd pricing
