running 3d mark03 now and see if it will crash with auto reboot off.

which version of prime should i get?

BTW my 6800GT's running at 350/1000 is this even OCed?
what did ntune did?!?
Edited by TheHolyLancer on 08/10/05 02:36 PM.

let sthe components "burn in" before you oc and especially before playing with voltage!!
You where wondering fi frequent reboot will wear the computer, I can tell you its a good idea too use the components some before OCing it!

Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-4-4-8, MSI 6800Ultra stock, 2X30gig Raid0

you can do both...get the system stable then run some prime/game, if it still stable after 2-3 days you can start playing!

Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-4-4-8, MSI 6800Ultra stock, 2X30gig Raid0

umm not really...
wait till you have a few benchmark result and post ****ONE*** post with your score we'll tell you if thats fine!

BSOD again! It says that something is attempting to execute non-executable memory. The technical info is

*** Stop: 0*000000FC (0*0c1sd163, 0*B972F534, 0*00000001)

(zero might be o... why can't they use a better front???)

Edit: i just try to reboot and it gave me BSOD as soon as i loged on. Time to remove the 77.72 driver and replace with the driver cd then try the beta

well i put in the D2LOD disc and immediatly it went into BSOD... i think i jumped to conclusions when i was saying that 77.72 was causing BSOD

weird... the first BSOD happend b4 i installed D2LOD... i'm going to try another cd

psst...[msconfig] you know you can copy the file from a 98 system...it'll just be missing a few items...there are a few write-ups on the web on how to do it for porting it to 2000; i was pissed when i found out it wasn't on there! heh;

It might be worth your while to find out what temps you're running. On both your cpu and your gpu. The 6800gt runs really hot, so it heats everything up in the case...

There should be a program that comes with your mobo that tells you your cpu temp. Nvidia has their gauge built in to the driver. You can check it under Display Properties, Settings, Advanced...from their you're on your own. I can't remember exactly where...I think you have to pick your gpu tab, then it's an option under there...But i'm guessing at that point.

Additionally i would run a memory testing program as well...Even if it turns out the temps are OK. Below 50c for the cpu and below 100c for the gpu. B4 somebody jumps on me over the 100c for the gpu...it's supposedly rated to 130c...=P

edit: lol...i didn't see that you already had it running at 2.8...i didn't think you were OC'n yet...ignore as much of the above as you want heh.

maybe its time for some virus scan... i mean i got ZA security Suite and clam virus protector on (not to mention the nevidia thing..) should i disable the data execuation preventation for all programs? i though that this was the A64 feature, but could it be what is causing the BSODs?

Change "/noexecute=Optin" to "/noexecute=AlwaysOff" in your boot.ini. It seems that nvidia drivers and some 3d programs don't, pardon the pun, play well together under dep. This should end the bsod issues.

i did it and this time its tell me to run a system diagnostic and perform a memory check and check for faulty or mismatched memory.....

then it goes on about changing the vid card adaptor...

ok i mem test it again....

Ok...some questions...in troubleshooting just the ram...

Are you currently oc'd? If so what to? Are you running 1:1? Have you raised the voltages? Does your ram require raised voltages to run normally?

What bios version are you running?

Everyone i've talked to is running the memory in the second and forth slot for your board, is that what you're running?

Next thing i'd follow, is the options in the bios for memory. Have you fiddled with these? I don't begin to know all the different options that they let us fool with...There are like 20 memory tweaking options alone...I would set those on auto (if you're not OC'n yet...) until you figure the issue out.

Lastly, i'd remove one of the memory sticks and see if you still get bsod'd.

well my ram is specified at 2-2-2-8 @ 3.2 V
but i'm running it at default of mobo, which is 3-3-3-8 @ 2.8
i have not touch any mem divider so.... i try to check
i can't find the bios version in the bios... and i can't slow down the screen to read it...
and my mem is in second and fourth slot because if i boot with 1 and 3 it will give me a warning...

Memtest is good.... i'd hate to loose 512 mb of ram... but shoudl i do that now?

o and after i changed the boot.ini in safe mode i booted straight to windows and then poped in D2LOD and it got through autorun and i closed the menu, then bang....

BTW do caps matter when i'm editing boot.ini? cause i used "alwaysoff" instead of "AlwaysOff" as that all other switchs didn't contain caps

Popping 1 stick out is for testing purposes only. If it turns out that its the memory...when it was sold to you as a dual config, then you can get them replaced...

i can't remember if caps matter or not. i'd say if it popped up an error...yea, otherwise you're probably fine. There are a couple of guys that know Dos better then i do...like pretty much anybody who has used pre-2000 (not including ME since that makes you more dumb...😉.

Sorry my updates are kinda haphazzard here, i'm still at frigg'n work...ghosting and what not...=/ Was here till 8 last night, and i'll be here till at least then tonight...luckly i only have an hour drive home...<kicks self in nuts for fun> heh.

well now my dad is saying that i should return all my parts because it dosen't work.... so i HAVE to get get up by tommrow or i'm screwed....

do this require a bios update?

he is most likely going to tell me to get a P4 because he still believes in P4 and beleives that more people likes P4 because it works...
