Hi all
My graphics are starting to stutter when playing games like WoW. I've reduced the settings and frame rate which has helped but hasn't eradicated the problem. I've been advised to upgrade the CPU, motherboard and graphics card, which seems like quite a lot and is prohibitively expensive. It was working fine until recently and we have a second PC in the house with an almost identical spec (slightly better graphics card but not much) which isn't having the same problems.
CPU - Intel Core i5-6600k @ 3.5GHz
RAM - 16GB
Graphics Card - Radeon RX 480
Disk - 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD
I've run some testing using Techpowerup and CPUID Powerup monitor. Temperatures seem to be fine but the CPU is maxing out at times.
The company I bought the PC from are recommending the following:
1x Asus ROG STRIX B450-F Motherboard
1x AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 6 Cores, 4.2GHz
1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB Graphics Card
Does this seem like good advice and necessary upgrades? Are there any other trouble-shooting things I can try?
Thanks in advance!
