CPU temperature help

I have an Intel Core i7-920 Processor, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus Cooler, and a HAF 932 case.

I just built my computer two days ago, and I'm running Hardware Monitor. It reports that my i7 Core Temperatures range from 33-38C idle. I ran Prime95, and while stress testing, those numbers shoot up to the high 60s-low 70s.

I expected lower temperatures than this. I've checked ventilation inside the case, and all fans are spinning fine.

Any suggestions on what the problem might be? Thank you!

Check that the 212 is installed correctly.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is. I used the thermal paste that came with it. Would having used Artic Silver instead have made a difference?

I don't think. My temps are the same with a stock cooler and an TT V9. Remove the 212 and install again.
