Question CPU upgrade

I want to upgrade my CPU from an i3 9100f to something better so I can play VR games and call of duty cold war, when I try to find what my motherboard is compatible with I don't find it, I've looked at http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/ and couldn't find it, its an ASRock H310CM-IB, what CPU is compatible with my motherboard? thanks in advance

Should be compatible with any 8th or 9th gen cpu. But given it's very basic VRM setup I wouldn't go higher than an i5, i7 may run into power issues an i9 probably would.

so if I wanted to upgrade to an i7 or higher would I have to upgrade my motherboard?

I would recommend it and as you would already be upgrading the cpu and motherboard might aswell get a newer generation.

I would upgrade the motherboard, it's very much low end,,,,,if u did want to spend a lot for cpu, but still have powerful cpu, i5 8600

5600x and a B550 motherboard
