Hi, 1 week ago i built my pc. Everything is ok but i have about 70-100% cpu usage in task menager so my cooler work in higher RPM. I use NZXT cam and Intel XTU to check real cpu usage and it isnt higher than 20%. Please help.

Intel i7-11700KF
RTX 3060 Gaming OC 12GB
16 GB - 3867MHz
PSU - NZXT 750 Gold
AIO cooler NZXT x63
Motherboard Z590 a pro
Thermall paste - Grizzly

I updated BIOS and have newest software

Solution
its your power mode

Go to "Windows Settings>Power>Power Mode" and change the Power Mode setting to <Best Power Efficiency> (likely on <Balanced> as default). I rebooted and now when I pull up Task Manager my CPU usage is at reasonable levels - it also solved my cooler fans issues as well because the cpu was not trying to run full tilt all the time and my cpu temps are now running at idle ~26-30 C vs. 45-55 C.

Guy who posted that has same CPU as you do.

See if this helps:

right click start
choose terminal (admin)
if it doesn't open as Powershell, choose the drop down arrow in title row and choose from list
copy/paste this command into window:
Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth
and press enter
Then type SFC /scannow
and press enter
Restart PC if SFC fixes any files as some fixes require a restart to be implemented
First command repairs the files SFC uses to clean files, and SFC fixes system files
SFC = System File Checker. First command runs DISM - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/what-is-dism?view=windows-11

try installing the drivers under Other drivers here:
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z590-A-PRO/support#driver

its strange they are so far apart. I know task manager not the most accurate program out there but normally difference isn't so great.

Have you run an anti virus scan or Malwarebytes?

Download Process explorer and run it as admin (it comes from Microsoft so its safe). It shows way more info than Task manager does.

the default view is tree structure meaning like your task manager screen, it will show what processes are under each service, but unlike task manager, it shows the usage of each part so you can see what is eating your ram/CPU

Just extra info
This page shows what all the colours and headings mean, link at bottom of it shows how to use it to find problems. You can right click processes and run an av scan from within the program.

An application is a program which you interact with on the desktop. A process is an instance of a executable (.exe program file) running.

A service is a process which runs in the background and does not interact with the desktop. In Windows, services almost always run as an instance of the svchost.exe process, the windows service host process; however there are sometimes exceptions to this.

Sometimes, processes may run in the background without interacting with the desktop, but without being installed as a service. Antivirus programs usually employ a service so they can continue running even when the user is not logged in.

Processes usually exit when an application is closed, however this is not always the case. Some programs, particularly download and backup programs, may continue to run in the background without displaying any windows. Antivirus is also an example of this - in addition to using a service, many antivirus applications run a process silently in the background which only displays an application to the user when action is required

I have all updated drivers. My BIOS is updated also. I scaned my pc only with windows defender but i have this pc for about 2 weeks and i download only safe apps.
