So I went away on vacation for a few days came back to a monitor that doesn't work. It sat plugged in to the mains, but unplugged from any computer.

Here's a pic with the monitor unplugged from a PC (but powered on): View: https://imgur.com/a/hmL2iqA

Could this be a power surge issue? I know our power went down while away, but I don't know if it was a surge. I had another monitor plugged in, and my desktop, both of which seem to be working fine. They were also plugged in to a surge protector, though it may be old.

I reduced the air conditioner, so the house would hit something like 32C/90F, but that doesn't seem a likely candidate.

I don't know what to recommend....that looks like a physical crack to me.
And you're the only one with eyes on the situation.
Thanks for the reply. It's not a crack since it doesn't show up when the monitor is off.

Honestly, this was a last ditch effort. I was just hoping to see if someone else was like "Oh ya, that happened to me. I just opened it up and replaced the widget in the back."
