Disable the HD Auto Scan

hi, does anyone know how to disable the Auto Scan Hard Drives when windows is starting up??
my winxp seems to have a problem whanever i boot up my windows, it says my E drive may have some problems and ask me to scan, but it can't find any problem thow, please help!!

Stupid question, but are you shutting down your computer properly? When the disk is checked automatically and no errors are found, Windows should disable the chkdsk tag in the file system (I believe it works along those lines, anyway). The only reason I can think of that it gets checked every boot up is that somehow Windows isn't shutting down correctly.

I am having the same problem, only it is with my D: drive. (Not that it makes a difference.)

I got that problem too and I fixed it by typing in the "run" command line (start/run)" chkdsk /f e: " (without the quote) or whatever drive you get an error for.

-Always put the blame on you first, then on the hardware !!!
