I have a Dell Latitude E6520 with 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3 RAM and I want to put in 16GB of RAM in it. I recently upgraded my CPU from a i7 2640M to an i7 2760QM and while both do support 16GB of RAM, the i7 2760QM supports it at a higher clock of 1600MHz. So my first question is if my CPU supports 16GB of RAM, does that also mean my laptop will support 16GB of RAM? I checked Dell's website (pdf attached) for my laptop and it said it only supported a maximum of 4GB per slot, which means 8GB max. But some users have reported that they have put more than the maximum amount of RAM in other models of Dell Latitude E65x0 series and it worked fine and I also found a crucial RAM module listing for the upgrade. (link attached). I am planning however to use a different module though (link also attached). Will 16GB work (and will it run at 1600MHz)?
