Dual monitor set-up and GTX 570 question from noob

im running an asus x58 mb with two 570gtx's and am trying to get both monitors to work togewther in games, but they will only run independantly. on my old quad sli cards(7950'sx2) worked no probs, and in the nvidia control panel i cant customize the monitors to work together. can anyone help?

Go to your windows 7 desktop home screen. Right click anywhere on it. Select screen Resolution. Click on multiple displays. Select Extend these displays. Click apply. then click ok and enjoy!

went into the resolution bit and was already on extend. im pullin my hair out. they are two entirely different monitors but on old machine worked a treat. any other ideas?

cheers, but extend isnt an option. i am running surround on nvidia and landscape on win 7
