DVD/CD Drive Write Problem

Problem Description: I have tried to burn cds and dvds
with both a Sony DVD burner and a new optirite DVD burner.
In both cases I get the same error message, either using
Nero 6 or using XP's send to cd function. Write failed.
SCSI error. Then the computer hangs up and I have to
reboot. Both drives seem to be able to read both cd and
dvd formatted media. I have recently done a clean install
of XP(after SP2 download crashed my system). This problem
occured before and after doing the clean install. I have
uninstalled Nero and still have the problem of the
computer freezing during the write process using XP "send
to" CD command.

Two things. First, install the latest chipset drivers for your
motherboard. Second, check this out:
