Dvd not detecting in system

Hi, Good one to you.. Im Baskaran, in my system i have DVD Drive it working properly when i put the VCD where as if i put the DVD is not detecting in my system.. what would be the problem?

If it's reading a normal CD fine but not a DVD then just double-check to make sure you definitely do have a DVD-ROM drive. If you definitely do, then do you have the software installed to play-back DVD media? I would recommend VLC Media Player. Google it for more info. It's freeware and can play just about anything...a million times better than Windows Media Player. Good luck!

it could be your firmware, you can try upgrading your firmware from the manufacturer's website. do you know what kind of drive it is ? a model number or a serial maybe
