I have an eMachine T2984. I emailed eMachine about this but received no
response.

1: What is the key to hold down to boot into Safe mode? I tried the usual
ones.

2: What key should be held down to access the BIOS? I tried the usual
ones. There is no message on the monitor while booting as is usual.

TIA

In the extremely unlikely event that your PC's manual or the
motherboard manufacturer's web site doesn't contain the needed
information, try one or more of the following:

How do I access my computer's setup (BIOS)

Wim's BIOS Page

Hi,

1) How to start in Safe mode:
http://www.rickrogers.org/fixes.htm#Safe%20mode

2) <delete>, and it must be done shortly after the system is powered on and
before Windows begins to load. Press <escape> first at the splash screen to
see the instructions.
