Enable Sync Data Transfer for CDROMs ?

I remeber when I had windows 98 I could enable "Sync Data Transfer" in the device manager for my dvd and cdrw. That would fix my movie skipping and other issues. I upgraded to Windows XP Pro... now I dont see the option. How can I enable "Sync Data Transfer" for my DVD and CDRW under Windows XP Pro ?

Don't need it with XP, especially if your drives runs in a DMA mode.
