Didn't tell a whole lot about the PSU in comparison to other PSU's. He just used an el cheapo Fotron PSU. I mean, seriously, why are you even comparing a PSU that's 350W and less than half the cost to a PSU that's 550W? From what I can tell there doesn't seem to be much different between the Antec and the Enermax besides what you just pointed out. I seriously have the feeling that you are paying an unnecessary premium for a 550W PSU that will won't benefit you much unless you daisy chain at least 5 high power USB devices and have 15 case fans. And from reading Antec's docs on their trupower technology it seems like the +5 and +3.3 outputs are probably going to be of the same capability of the Enermax 550W. From what I can tell a good +5 and +3.3 are necessary for system stability, but you don't need a ton of wattage. In that manner, the Antec will be just as good as it delivers a stable flow to those outputs and enough power to fill your entire system with AIB's.
Other things... the sound levels of the two brands of PSU's appear to be the same. Actually, the Antec will do the fan speed adjustments automatically for you based on temps inside the case. The Antec also has power flow correction and dual fans. The truth is.. I don't see much of a difference and to me it seems like the 550W is priced so high because it is a premium product. Recently Enermax announced their 600W PSU but that's not out yet so the 550W is currently their best offering, and as such, you pay a premium for it, much like you pay on a price curve for processors.
This little cathode light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine!
