randomly my ethernet port on my laptop stopped working. was wonder how difficult or if it was even possible to repair/ replace it. laptop is almost 6 years old. It's a Toshiba Qosmio x70 gaming laptop. its not dirty and the pins on the inside are fine. i have a feeling it some how shorted out. it is almost completely unresponsive. from time to time i can get it to sense that there is a cable inserted but it never reads a internet connection. it just keeps saying identifying network. is it possible for someone with basic computer knowledge to take it apart and replace the ethernet port on the laptop. i know how to solder. just curious if its easy, even possible or is it junk.

Repair? are u thinking something wrong with the RJ45 jack? If u inspected it and all pins are straight, will you disclose at one time u pull the cable very hard?

What ^he says, a new USB-Ethernet dongle is your quickest solution.
Thanks for the recommendation, I didn’t know that was a thing. I just ordered one.
