Evga 9800gt random lag~

llo Folks!

I recently installed 9800 gt 1 gb card.The problem is that i am facing random lag while playing games such as Fifa 09,Wolverine,GTA 4,Bioshock,Prototype Street Fighter 4 etc.The game loads fine and it starts off very smoothly however then suddenly it lags for like 4-5 seconds and then it's back to normal.

My config is as follows:

Pro - Amd 64 x2 Dual 5200+ 2.7 ghz
Mobo - Asus M2N-MX SE Plus
Ram - Transcend 4 gb
Psu - ViP Gold 500W
Gpu - Evga 9800 gt 1 gb
Os - Windows xp 64bit
Monitor - 14" Samsung

I ran 3dMark06 and the results are as follows:

3dMark06 Score - 7690
SM2.0 Score - 4050
HDR/SM3.0 Score - 4218
CPU Score - 1255

It would be great if I can get some help/advice regarding my problem.

On a 14" monitor that card should be giving you silky smooth framerates.
1. clean previous drivers then install latest drivers.
2. enable PhysX GPU acceleration
3. could be hard drive loading, defragment
4. 3dMark06 score seems not just low but very low for a 9800 GT

Check your GPU's idle and load temps and post here.

i tried swapping 9800gt with 8600gt.. just to check if theres any change..
i ran street fighter 4 and it lagged as well..

i installed win xp 64 bit.. nothin worked.. i tried removing one ram chip each.. nothin worked..


cud it be my cpu/mobo?

[*** in lag to go... replace with new hdd...mobo... a core 2duo... quad...extreme...i7 hell it will lag on that too one day... so be happy and play..... chill
