Hi

Currently having a nightmare with my pc.

I recently bought a pre-overclocked bundle (CPU, RAM, Motherboard), along with a new case. I used my current 1TB hdd and HD6850 from my old system,

I had some slight problems where I believed my psu was faulty but this was in fact down to human error one of the power connectors to the motherboard had not been connected fully, I bought a new PSU corsair TX750 then noticed the problem with the connection.

Since then the pc had been running fine and I even added a 2nd 6850 in crossfire last weekend and this has been running fine.

Today I left the pc installing some updates and downloading a file and went to work, when I came home I found the pc in a sort of loop of powering up for a sec failing like it was stalling then trying again and again etc etc. I turned it fully off and tried to power up again it span up the fans for 1 sec then powers off after a few secs it tries again this time the fans, power light and all the motherboard phase lights turn on I get no beep and the screen stays black.

Even with no RAM in the board it does the same no beeps, and if I have unplugged the power fullly it always does the same thing where it powers up fans then cuts out the very first time then after it will keep power but just the fans etc even the dvd tray will open.

The odd thing is this is exactly what it did when the 12V power connectors had not been connected at the earlier stage. (the 2 x 4pin connectors) they are now def connected and does the same with the old psu etc. I believe the pc might have gone into hibernation/standby when left during the day.

I have reseated power connectors ram gfx everything but cpu as this seemed unlikely as its well clamped in and nothing was moved.. Also left the pc off for about 45mins. I havent yet reset the cmos as the overclocked bundle had a saved profile and I do not wish to lose this.

Can anyone think what the problem might be? As I say its been running fine since Sat, CPU was cool and gpus were running cool too under 58c on the gpus and about 45c on the cpu.

Any advise would be most appreciated.. I believe my system is listed in my profile.

Thanks in advance.

Make sure the mobo is properly seated on the standoffs, and the the screws are not causing a short. Had the exact thing happen to me about 3 years ago. Couldnt figure it out for the life of me, then when i bread boarded the system it worked fine. After i placed everything back in the case paying attention to the standoffs, everything worked great.

Hope this helps.

No signature with system specs. If you're mobo doesn't have a speaker, then you won't get the bios beeps. Without a speaker or some other indication on your mobo, there's no good way to start isolating your issue. It sounds like you've already started to do some of the suggestions in this link, but a good place to to start for a boot-no-video or fail to boot issue is here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems
I would probably start out by breadboarding the system with minimum components and add one part at a time: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/page-262730_13_0.html
