The Titan is more fallacy that fact, the GTX780 can be overclocked well beyond what a Titan can and is faster, at stocks the Titan is barely faster than some OC designed 780's and the 780 uses less power. So from this stand point if the 290X is infact faster than or equal to the Titan, and faster than the 780 all at stock and can also overclock well while running cool then it will be the alpha card in the market. I am assuming the R9 290 sits in between the 770 and 780 but at the 770's price which will result in AMD having aces in the high end market if you add the never settle bundles its hard to beat the value, if the 290X is $600 Nvidia will have no choice but to engage in a price war which for the end buyer is fantastic news, if you can get 780's, 290's and Titans in the $500-600 range, everyone wins.
