-_- Well, my GTX 280 just decided to give me yellow/green screens when I start to load into windows today. Tried several drivers, and nothing seemed to work(it loaded into safe mode just fine, though). I'm guessing this one has finally gone bad, I was expecting it to since it had been giving me some trouble before now.
Back to my 6+ year old X800 *jumps for joy*, man my comp just went from extremely powerful to just barely able to play L4D. 🙁

Ow..... That must hurt.

Sorry for the late reply, seamed to of overlooked your comment.

Any ways, why do i have it?

Opps, looks like my memory fading already...... :heink: Look like that i have the TX 750 from corsair....... not the xfx...... [:aford10:1]

what am i thinking?

Although dang, i didn't notice that my desktop been down for a month and 1/2 already :ouch: Feels like it's only been about 2 to 3 weeks. Time sure flies when your busy and/or have fun. :sarcastic:

Bake it 385F for 8-10 mins. Serve with chips and peas...lovely 😀

So you'd go Corsair over XFX then? Hows the driving going? [:fixitbil:6]

What i was meaning is that i somehow forgot which brand i have. :pt1cable: I still have the corsair. Just somehow, i though it was a different brand. (although seeing as i also did that with my old PSU, maybe my mind doesn't like memorizing PSU. :heink:)

As for the driving. I would say all is good. Drove a car about 5 times and the good news is im starting to get some road time. Now before you....... PANIC 😱, im still in a restricted on where im able to drive at. Currently it's in the base housing area i live in. 25 Mph (or if correctly list by another web site, 40.23 Kph for those that dont do mph) is the fastest i've drove. Some close calls (mainly overturning on turns and about to hit grass or a curb) but nothing yet.

Other good news about my driving is that my family insurance provider has a nifty little program that we can use to reduce our insurance cost. Think is was called "steer clear program" from state farm. As long as i dont get into an accident or get in trouble by the police for the next too months, It's all good. :)

You've definitely got the 2 -smp flags set up.

Command : fah6 -configonly -smp and Additional Client Parameters -smp.

Thats what screwed mine up at the start. [:aford10:1]

Nope, I double-checked that a few times. But a clean reinstall of the client (including deleting all work records) seemed to solve the problem for now.

Holy Cow Batfink, sounds complicated learning to drive where you are. When I turned 17 I stuck 2 L plates on my mums car, sat her in the passenger seat and away I went, 70 in a 40... 😗

These bigger GPU units are giving my 460 a workout, its gone up to a whopping 60C.. :fou:

Also 1 failed, said unstable machine! Good news is I've crept into the Top 100, woohoo..

Just something I worked out, and before you ask the answers NO, I don't have anything better to do.

912pt unit takes 80mins to complete = 11.4 ppmin

1298pt unit takes 140mins to complete = 9.27 ppmin

Anyone else getting these bigger GPU units?

Thats not surprising. The WU's before these new one was more dependent on speed over number of shaders (aka cuda cores). Now it's opposite. Yeah speed does matter but the higher number of of shaders is even more important now. :heink:

Well that explains it, thanks for the info. [:bohleyk:1]

Seeing as my card was pretty cool at 53C I suppose the low 60's isn't a problem.

Well, I've basically stopped folding for now after my card bit the dust. That probably took a decent chunk out of the 24hr team average. I think the other part is just the normal fluctuation of which work units people recieve/whether they leave on the clients or not.

Hmm, I bake it on a daily basis with F@H. 😛 I don't know if I want to try that, how high of temps can the case withstand I wonder? I could take it apart to try it as a last resort I guess.

I was barely keeping my position before my card died, now I'm going to be blown past by several people. :non:

More hardware for me would be nice. 😀 I'll take an AMD card if you have any since they don't fold well anyway. 😗

Just glad there is someone to take my place, we need to keep up the points or we're going to drop even further down the rankings!

BTW, I was wondering what the percentage of GTX 280s die within the first year of use? Seems pretty high if I got two cards that died within their first year.

You need to strip it bare, everything that comes off, take it off.
If its had it anyway its gotta be worth a try, makes your kitchen smell of rubber though.

Got a spare 8600GTS, probably get you more points than a HD4850.

Exactamundo, I will try and do my bit for the team. [:bohleyk:1]

Surely if you brought them new they would still be under warranty?? The GTX460 comes with a 2yr warranty.

This was actually my second card from them(RMA'd the first one), I'm sure this one is refurbished. Even if I had a warranty, this was from BFG, so I would have to have quite a bit of luck to get another card. :pt1cable:

I just need a card for gaming, I can barely play Guild Wars/Team Fortress 2 with the card I have. :??:
Like Arnie says You'll be back. well you know what I mean.
Yes, I'll be back, with vengeance and cookies(might as well cook something with my card, if they taste like rubber, you know who they're from). 😉

Don't think RMA's guarantee a new replacement do they, and I think the warranty still runs from the original purchace which I think is a load of horlicks. If it goes wrong you should get a new one with a new warranty.

Bake it. 😀

HMMMMMMM rubber choc chips, yummy.

I'd wish i have some more news about when Client v7 coming around although all i keep hearing about lately is BigAdv WU's (which unless im mistaken, no one on this team works on them) and Single Core Wu's :pt1cable:

Also, Woot!

[:aford10:7]

Got a silver cpu badge! Didn't even know that i was close. Then again, i really dont pay much attention to the ranking system [:graywolf:5]
