As some of you are aware Adak passed away suddenly after an illness.

Team 32 invites friends and foes alike to fold in Adak's name to help us honor his dedication, his spirit, and his fierce drive to make all our forums a better place. Adak folded for many teams but considered Team 32 his home. Join us for a week of folding madness and let us try to send Adak shooting to the stars in points as well as spirit!

All details can be found here in the main thread

Nice one cultie,

I for one am deeply sorry for the chap's death, and will fold in his honor. But my respect doesn't go as far as to support his "home team".

In fact, with the very little I know about him, it would seem that he would care much more about folding itself and spreading the word than of teams.

Again, I send my (digital, anonymous, and for all you know meaningless) condolences to his family and friends, but I'll keep folding to my team.

Wish i could be apart of the foldathon to honor Adak but i have no way to monitor my computers while i'm a Job Corps.

Cant believe though that just a few short years ago, that my random act of joining a CC without this team knowing would would create a closer bond with other teams throughout the community.

So much so that we feel the sorrow of loosing a great folder.

It's amazing how connected we can be at time.

We will remember you adak and for everything you've done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4SQ3XmBOyM

I just wanted to tell you folks that I have to stop folding for awhile.
Took a bad financial hit recently so I cannot fold for now.
I really miss being in the top 20 producers 🙁
Hopefully later on I will be able to start up again.
Sorry Team 40051

We all have our ups and downs in life.
The main thing is that you are OK.
Hang in there and don't be a stranger . Like I tell everyone else you are welcome here whether you are folding or not.
As Beanoslim would say. Keep a stiff upper lip and don't let life's trivial things get you down.
You will overcome what ever your problems are and be a stronger person from the experience. Even though it sux right now. :)

Same here dude, it could be a while before I fold again but some things in life have to take priority.

Damn dude sorry to hear that. I knew you said you would have to stop folding for a while, but did not know it was that bad.
Here's hoping things get better soon for both of you. :)

Thanks mate, fingers crossed it will get better soon though.

No idea. :\ It doesn't have a measure. I'll be able to measure later this week though.

A bug I just learned about the hard way (and confirmed on the forums) with the Chrome App: Unless you have Chrome 34 Beta, the FaH app will store all previous WU in a temp folder. With a fast computer over a few days, this folder can grow huge. I just deleted 10GB off one computer and 15GB off of another. So if you use this App regularly, stop, delete the contents of temp, and upgrade to Chrome beta 34 (or regularly delete).

temp folder is at: C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Temp

Kings n' monkeys, just stay alive and enjoy life. You can always repay what you lost by buying some monster GPU down the road when you're old and rich.

When life gives you a polar vortex and miserable weather, go skiing every week. Epic powder man.

Thanks everybody for the kind thoughts.
It is a combination of having to pay for a engine rebuild on my car and also a new girlfriend.
Both are fun to drive but cost money LOL
So nothing too horrible life wise.
Things are overall pretty good.
I have to just cut some expenses down temporarily.
Between the air conditioning and the electricity folding on a AMD PHII x 6 1100T machine it was adding up.

@MM - I hope everything is okay brother?

I just have to find a new job and somewhere live, so no biggie!

I have been there more than once.
I am still going through it
I was unemployed for a few years and the solution I found was to open my own small business repairing computers
wasnt going to get rich doing it but it paid the bills
then after my fiance died I had to move out of our three bedroom apartment in the city, give up the business and go back to my Mom's
thank the Lord for her
I managed to get a job with a Hewlett Packard reseller/channel partner which has been going well
I like my job and while i dont make killer money it is reasonable with great room for advancement
now in the process of figuring out how to move out of Moms
I love my Mommy but I cannot live with her
I am a 43 year old computer nerd so adding in living at home with Mom doesnt help the cool image
Hang in there
Keep the faith
Stay hopeful
obstacles are just challenges put in front of us to test us and make us stronger and wiser
the worst they can do is kill you and heck all of us got to go sometime
No one here gets out alive so make the best of it while you can
