Currently slogging through a core 15. :/ I'll be asleep once it is done, then school. Give me 24 hours, or a bit more. 😛

Take as long as you like mate!

A friend of mine is running a 270x at 1.25Ghz and manages ~75k on 8900, so that is a bit odd.

Hardest choice ever is choosing shadowplay on the new drivers for my twitch channel, or the 90kppd on older drivers. I choose 90k in the end.

Sorry, at least my morning brain didn't figure out the quoting on mobile... so @icraft.

Well, mine is at Asus TOP stock clocks of 1120 and the difference is already over 10%. With bonus it could be normal? I hope so. Maybe I should try the beta driver when I get the chance.

Yeah, PPD is non-linear so that clock difference is probably pretty close to enough. I would definitely recommend giving beta a go. I'm over 40 WU in between all my cards and no errors, just a big boost in performance.

The problem is that the 750Ti will only be able to use the newest drivers and they haven't been that brilliant for OpenCL performance but with a new architecture they could be the dogs dangly bits, the launch price over here is about the same that the 7790 was...

WOH, 210k on a 780ti, how does that stack up to a 780, anyone got one running?

I'm guessing GPU Farms will be sprouting up across the lands with the demise of bigadv.

Is there any plans for improving SMP or is everything leaning towards GPU?

I am sure driver improvements will be implemented. The performance/watt of these cards have me interested. Faster than the cards they will replace and use less power, as well, is a win win for me. I had someone that was into mining wanting my HD 5850's. I wonder if he is still interested.

@beano there was buzz about AVX the last time I was on the folding forum but with GPUs becoming more general purpose I would wager that they will take over.

Well they still haven't fixed the Open CL performance on the 5xx and 6xx series so gawd knows how the performance on Maxwell will be affected.

On a happier note - this is somewhat interesting: https://folding.stanford.edu/home/adding-a-completely-new-way-to-fold-directly-in-the-browser/

If you have a system that you want to only run part time, this might be a good option. It also uses a newer version of Gromacs, which has me mucho intrigued.

It looks like units run for an hour or less. This will be great for new system burn in. The only thing that needs installed is the chrome browser.

The only way this could be easier would be if it would run in Internet Explorer. (You don't know how much it hurt to say that!)

Any Idea about PPD for something like this? I realize it will be dependent on the CPU but I was wondering, as compared to A3 or A4.

I was told they used the same benchmark machine, but because of the new core and very short WU things might not line up perfectly. And 1-2 hours is for an older, slow machine. A top of the line modern CPU should be much faster. But I haven't done any testing yet, and I have way more questions than answers about it at this point

I don't know if I am allowed to comment, as I haven't been able to help the team for a while now but...

RIP Adak... So sad to see another enthusiast go. From some chronic health condition leading to a heart attack no less.

I think that the best way to remember him, and to continue his will and legacy is to stay loyal to the Folding project. This means helping by your own power, as well as spreading the word as much as possible to anybody who is willing to listen. This Chrome app is the best way to do this I think. There has never been a better way for many to fold, even for those who have weak gear, no interest in hardcore Folding, or any other reason.

Maybe this could lead to research that helps another ADAK live another day.

If for nothing else, I will dedicate next month to spread word of the new Chrome app. Also, I will restart my gear, however power inefficient, and hilariously weak it may be.

Finally, I saw icraft's comment that another member has passed away as well. Guessing blindly from the (lack of) posts on this page, I send my condolences to the family of DoubleD

You are always welcome here. Whether you are folding or not..
Good to hear from you again.

Yeah, like the guy above said; you're welcome here no matter what. I don't fold for THGC myself, I run my own team.

About the quote though, I think (And hope) DD is still up and about. I was referencing anandtech. A well known member there passed away after multiple surgeries. It has been looking good, but it didn't work. So yeah, not doubleD AFAIK.
