i did not goforit guys.after a LONG LONG chat with overclockers he said it would not really be worth my while.he said save my money tilli can buy the gtx 480ti or wait till early next year or but a 390x and the 970 he suggested was the strix one.300 quid. same with the amd 390x the strix one again.nice cards but my heart wasn't in it.i was the same when i bought the i5 4970 great for gaming but not an i7 4790k DC .everyone told me i would not see a difference but the hyper threading means it thinks its got 8 cores. aqnd it leaves the i5 standing folding and all my frame rates went up so.
 
Why pay £300 for the Strix?

Why go for the Strix over the G1 anyway, think you are talking to the wrong people my friend:na:

You can always get one now and add another later for SLI, think you'd notice an improvement then😀

I am not a big fan of the core 21 WUs. They seem to dump a lot of extra heat out of the card for a slight bump in PPD.

And I can't game while they are running because they leave no headroom in the GPU. 😛
 
OK, common question I am sure - best folding PPD from a card at or under about $100.00 US?
have a couple of machines just sitting around running all day that could be doing something, but cant put much budget into it. thoughts?
 


Not in the US so I don't work in $'s, how much is the 7790/260X in your corner of the Interwibble?
 
SO , it looks like the r7260x/R7360 vs 650ti/750ti,
where can I look at the points difference for the cards? have a 650ti in another machine,, but if they are all going to be price comparable, power comes into question..
 


One of those should give you about 50k to 60k PPD, don't know about the 650Ti/750Ti. The 360 is likely a worse performer than the 260X due it to having less SP's.
 


EXT64 has had a 750ti for a long time. This is the most recent post I could find with PPD.
 


I THINKIMIGHT BE.I WAS LOOKING AT SOME STUFF AND THE GTX970 IS AS GOOD AS R9 290 OR EVEN A R9 290X.SO IM KEEPING IT MIND.I WANT THE evga sc VERSION BUT NO BACKPLATE ANYMORE,SORRY CAPS.JUST INSTALLED WINDOWS 10 [AGAIN.IT WONT LET ME DELETE ANYTHING ON MY SSD? WEIRD
 


My 650ti boost (same cuda cores) as650ti does 50,000PPD under Lubutu and 45,000PPD under Windows.
Clocked @1267 core and shaders, don't worry about overclocking memory.

 


its not just folding im after.i do a LOT of benchmarking like firestrike etc so high scores and OC are big on the list.i looked at the card you are talking about it would get hammered by a 970 gtx[i spent 2 hours researching it..the Gigabyte is big but i got a nzxt 440 case and iv taken out the HD brackets so plenty of room.[its 12.5 inches long lol] like me
 


thanks matey.i hope its the 3.0 one and not the 2.0,one of the guys answered that it was 2.0 but i'm guessing his review was written a long time ago.Saw a you tube review on that strix card and OMG if this evga comes close my firestrike benchmarks will be over 12k.

Yeah I kind of feel bad about that one.
MANY of his work units were on the very old point system. 1 work unit, one point.
