Formatting taking too long

Hi, I just got a 1tb internal drive and its taking simply too long for it to format. Currently, it has been a week since I started my formatting and I'm only at 48%. Is there something wrong with the drive or could it be that I used a faulty SATA cable?

While 1 TB is a larger drive, it should take under an hour to format it. You can certainly try a different SATA cable, but unless it starts working soon, I would exchange it for another being that it is so new.

I just bought the SATA cable from a Microcenter store as well, I find it hard to believe that they would carry faulty cables :/

I buy stuff from Microcenter as well. Any part can be faulty, and need to be swapped in the end.
