Question Generic question. 1440p or 1080p?

Hello, topkek!
I have a question, and its in the title. (Screw you 😀)

Anywho, silly intro aside, here is the main stuff.

I want to make an 1440p capable build, that can excel in 1080p if its needed, too. (Ryzen 5 2600 + RX Vega 56)

So, lets say, if I can get an 1440p 75Hz / 1080p 144hz monitor for the same price, which should I choose?
(I have been using 1336x768 all my life, with under 30FPS... how do people call this shit HD?!)

Frame-Rates in 1080p in some cases is almost double than 1440p.
But, 1440p has WAY sharper image quality from what I have read.

Im gonna play FPS and Racing games. (Occasioanly Geometry Dash lulz)

Sooo... which one should I get?

For FPS titles, a higher refresh rate 1080p panel would make the most sense.

A 75Hz 1440p panel is nice, but for your intended goals (and especially stepping up from 1336x768), 1080p/144Hz seems like the way to go.
