I am selling my XFX 2GB 6950 because it is getting outdated. It has a tri-fan cooler that keeps it amazingly cool even at decent overclocks and has performed well, but with new consoles coming out game developers will be pushing out better graphics so I feel now would be a pretty good time to upgrade. I am worried about the 780 coming out and outdating a 680 but I've heard the 680 can run anything at ultra with over 60fps. All I need is average 60fps as my monitors max is 60. I would also not be afraid to overclock a 680 so I guess that's a bit of an advantage too. All in all, what I'm asking is should I wait the month or even couple months until the 780 comes out and spend more on that, or get a 680 now and maybe add another later? I would like to save a little money so I can get a good SSD and new RAM and case.

You've got about 15 hours to wait. Unless you are THAT desperate wait till then, see if the 780 is a rip off, and then buy.

Either way, the 7970 is probably going to be better value than both.

Also, not trying to diss AMD, but I have just heard a lot better things about Nvidia as far as gaming. I've heard they have better performance for the specs, better reliability, and much much better drivers. It seems most people say if you have the money to buy nvidia, then definitely buy nvidia. That's just what everyone has said though. I'm not positive.

Well a store in the UK is saying they have a 100 or so, looks like an immediate release. Don't get your hopes up too much though, pricing is said to be pretty steep, alot of places saying reference models will be $649.

But until tomorrow, who knows.

Well fortunately I just worked 7 days in a row, and work another 7 in a row but after tomorrow. Get tomorrow off so that's perfect timing. Get to watch the reviews and see if it's worth it or not.
