Question Gigabyte Aorus 15 BMF Laptop not detecting known working M.2 drive

Hi, I just recently purchased a used gigabyte aorus laptop from facebook marketplace. It didn't come with a hard drive and I was okay with that because I was just gonna use the nvme from my other laptop and put windows on it. Unfortunately even though the drive works in my acer laptop, I plug it into the aorus and it is neither detected in the BIOS or the windows installation. I have tried installing all the drivers that I can find, the RST, updating the bios, swapping the slot I have the drive plugged into, messing with all the settings I can in BIOS, and everything else that I can find online. The only problem is I only have one disk in it and it won't detect it, so I can't get windows installed or do anything past the bios or the hard disk selection in the windows setup. At this point I feel I have looked everything up that I could possibly find and I'm at a loss on what to do next. Appreciate any help!

My laptop is a Giabyte Aorus 15 BMF

Thoughts:

Moving a OS drive from one system to another can be problematic if it works at all.

Full Gigabyte Aorus 15 BMF specs?

Not sure about the full sequence of events but was there a clean Windows install attempt made using the nvme (from other laptop) installed in the Aorus laptop?

What certainty, if any, is there that the aorus laptop obtained via facebook marketplace was working?

Any return/RMA options?

It was my intention to do a clean install on the NVME once I installed it into my new laptop. While doing so it's not detected by the BIOS or windows installation media. Last night I also reinstalled the drive in my original laptop to format it and see if that fixed the problem but it's still not detected.

Specs:
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-13700H
  • GPU: RTX 4070 (Mobile Version)
  • Memory: 16GB DDR5-4800
  • Storage: 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD
  • Display: 15.6-inch 1440p 165Hz
  • Battery: 99WHr
  • Dimensions: 14.17 x 10.7 x .82 inches
  • Weight: 5.03lbs
Obviously, I don't have the storage device in mine, because we were ready to make the deal on marketplace and he told me he had issues doing a windows reset, so I told him to remove the hard drive and I would take the laptop. Now I know I might have made a mistake.

The laptop also doesn't have any other slots for any drives other than m.2, and I'm not quite sure how to tell what kind of m.2 drive I have or if it's even compatible with the hardware.
