Anyone know of a good one? I'm playing around in there solo L40 Rogue and I
know I can't cap the main guy, but I'm collecting other goodies and the
place is just kool. I would love to know if there are some things I'm
missing, however.

For example, I have my White & Yellow cards, but can't find any consoles B
&/or C to upgrade. I have only found As & Ds - and I'm not really even sure
what the cards do for me. That's the kind of info I'm looking for.

Thanks!

The consoles you need are further in, you need to go into the actual
instance - things get a little hairy down there, even my level 48 Rogue
gets her butt kicked if the alert-bomb guys catch her and I get mobbed.
Stock up on flash powder!

You should be able to solo Techbot - get the quest in Ironforge.

I'd say keep working on the quests, they'll keep you busy, and team up
when you finally need to kill the Boss.

When you find the "Grime Encrusted Objects", get a bunch and head to the
dormitories, and clean them in the cleaning machines - there's mostly
vendor trash and base metals and gems, every once in a long while
something nice gets revealed (and I love how it...well, I won't give
away the end of the cleaning cycle...)

There's an escort quest you can pick up in a side tunnel if that thing
floats your boat - kind of hard to solo, tho.

For the most part, Gnomer is my least favorite instance, even in groups,
so I did a few quests in there in a hurry, and left. It's too diffcult
to solo at lower levels, and very little worth farming for at higher
levels, when youget no experience - at your level, you should be hitting
Shadowfang Keep or Scarlet Monestary if you want to farm, anyway. You
said it's 'kool", so I guess you're sightseeing, which is fine - it is a
neat place, if you can live to see it - but the rewards are better at
Shadowfang or Scarlet. (I can get multiple greens and blues in a
Shadowfang Keep run - Rogues can plow through there no problem, except
for a dicy room up in a tower with bats and a Wolfen-type guy.)

Plus, I like the design of Shadowfang Keep better - it's creepier, and
the end of the instance is cool in it's design.

I got the Wowwikki guide and have been having a ball in Gnome.

Decent exp from some of the 32 (elites) as well. The Electrocutioner was
like 550+275 (lots of rest..) - not bad.

There is a massive inconsistency with the power of the 32s, however. Some I
tear through like tissue paper, but the Electro guy and the Crowd Pummeler I
had to trot out the whole list of tricks. Mechanical pet, grenade, pet
bombling, healing potion & thiste tea - got 'em both tho.

I'm farming Arcane dudes now - they are 32 (Elites) and doable with only 1
healing potion and 1 trinker - but I've been under 200 HP on 2 or 3 of them
- too low for my liking. I need the security card and, supposedly, the
arcane guys have the best drop rate. It's all I lack to getting my
'Discombolulator Ray - for you non-Engineers it is an instant-cast,
damn-hard-to-resist polymorph into a Leper Gnome that drops movement &
attack speeds by like 30% and rips up other combat/casting abilities as well
- don't remember the duration, but if you're full energy, you can HURT stuff
while its polymorphed. Best part is that anyone can use it (no engineering
requirement!).

I MIGHT go back after I've built one & try it on Thermaplug, but seriously,
I can't handle the adds & room trash groups solo if he can't be pulled aside
- so those nice pants may be a write-off.

I'll head to Scarlet next - never been there. In fact, I may go clear
Wailing Caverns from end-to-end once just because I haven't.

I love playing with the cleaner - I've gotten 2 nice blue soulbound pieces I
can't use. Neither the pieces themselves nor the gift boxes are tradeable,
but the grime-covered stuff is. Maybe I'll get a pile of it before I leave
and pass it on to another toon that might like the ring/necklace/armor
stuff. Of course, I can't imagine trying to solo this place with anything
but my rogue. The mage & hunter (my other 2 above 20) would have to clear
the entire way to the room and the multiples in the room - and I just don't
think I could get there solo.

Thanks for the advice - are there any Scarlet, Wailing or Shadowfang guides
that will make it interesting?

PS: The side-escort thing is a GAS if you're an engineer... I dropped a
bomb, then a pet bombling then just laid about the half-dead, non-elite
trogs and made quite a mess of them. I cheated though, I used a healing
potion and Evade... :)
