Hello,

For a month now I have this problem that my GPU will not display video when I first turn on my PC in the morning. The only solution to this problem I found is removing the GPU, starting and shutting down the PC, and then putting the GPU back in. Then it works without any problems.

The weird thing during this whole thing is that the GPU seems to be working completely normal, the fans are spinning, the light is on. I can even log into windows without the video output.

Also, when I restart with the video output showing, it will revert back to the old problem and I have to unplug + replug the GPU.

Things I tried that did not fix the problem:
  • Use another monitor
  • Use DisplayPort instead of HDMI
  • Boot with no USB devices connected
  • Reinstall Windows
  • Boot from USB Stick
Specs:
Motherboard: MS-7826
CPU: i7 4770 3,4GHz
GPU: MSI GTX 970 4G
PSU: 600W be quiet! System Power 9

Will the system boot into safe mode and then display as expected?

BIOS:

Enable verbose mode so the computer will show what all is happening during boot up.

This CPU?

As I understand the specs, the CPU has integrated Graphics.

Remove the GPU and enable integrated graphics.

Determine if the problem ends, changes, or continues.

Also, even though the computer does immediately display in the morning take a look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer. Either one or both tools may be capturing some related error code, warning, or informational event that corresponds with the display failing to appear at first start.

Try replacing the CMOS battery just as a matter of elimination.
