Hello everyone,

First off, specs:
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 Ti OC 8GB
MOBO: Asus B450M-Plus Gaming II
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600 MHz 16 GB (2x8)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x
PSU: Gigabyte P750GM 80+ Gold
Storage: Samsung 870 QVO 2TB SSD, Seagate ST2000 2TB SSHD, and Western Digital SN750 1TB M.2

I've built and had this PC for the past three years, and it's worked fine. About three months ago, I moved from Japan back to the States, and didn't get a chance to pick up my PC and set it back up until a couple of days ago. I left everything as it was in the case, which I realize now may be the source of my problem, as I had also left the GPU in it. I made sure to wrap the case with packing paper and styrofoam before stuffing it in the original box, so it was a snug fit.

When I opened the box, everything looked fine inside. I then tried to boot her up and got one long beep followed by three short beeps in the POST, which according to the Asus manual indicates it could be a GPU issue. All lights and the fans turn on. I reseated the GPU and the cables, both from the GPU side and the PSU side, I dusted off the PCIE slot and the GPU contact, and I reset the BIOS with both the battery on and off. I randomly got it to turn on but I realized I forgot to screw down the back of the GPU to the chassis, so I did that and set my PC back up, only for the same issue to happen again.

I reset the GPU back to how I had it before screwing down the back, and it worked again, but then I started to get random colored lines around my monitor that would come and go. I tried updating the graphic drivers but it wouldn't actually update, and I couldn't change my resolution to 1440; the most it would go to was 1080, but occasionally it would get stuck at 768. Before the computer died on me again, I took a look at the GPU on Device Manager and saw that it had an error 43.

Upon further inspection, I realized I had a lot of play on the PCIE slot with the GPU installed than I ever remembered having, even with the screws installed in the back. Also, when I try to adjust the GPU to have it screwed down, I noticed that my GPU had to travel a lot to get it lined up, more than I remember it having to usually do. The PC also only powers up occasionally when it's unscrewed compared to never when I have it screwed.

As a final, desperate attempt, I zip tied the sagging end of the GPU to a bracket above it by using one of the power cables hooked up to it. The cable had enough slack to where it wouldn't disconnect from the GPU or have one of the wires come loose. This actually worked for a moment, and everything seemed fine, until my screen would occasionally black out and ultimately the PC would die. The worst was when I tried to play a game, the screen would flash between white and the game, until finally the PC crashed. After that, I cut the zip tie and laid the case down.

Through all this, I am posting this on the forum to ask for troubleshooting help. I realize I may have to swap out a part as I've tried all the usual solutions I mentioned earlier. Do you guys think it's a GPU issue, or a MOBO issue? The GPU by itself seems fine, I don't see the contacts moving when I take it off the PCIE slot (not that I would try very hard to force this), and nothing really seems loose. I was thinking maybe the PCIE slot had been deformed during the move? It is a bit hard to tell by itself. The slot itself doesn't jiggle when I try to move it by hand. Is there also any at-home or cheap solutions I should try that I missed? Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I also tried hooking up an HDMI cord to the MOBO with the GPU disconnected. The POST beeps fine at first, but then does the GPU beep after a little bit, but I'm pretty sure the CPU I have doesn't support integrated graphics.

TLDR; PC doesn't turn on after three month move. POST beeps indicate GPU issue. Would like troubleshooting help to narrow down to either MOBO or GPU itself.

Throw this PSU out or replace it as soon as you can since it's an unreliable unit.
I never knew this. What's a reliable replacement for it? Also, could it possibly be a source of my problem?

I've come back to this post to say that I've swapped out the MOBO (Gigabyte B450M DS3H Wifi), GPU (ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 Super Dual OC), and PSU (EVGA 850 G5) and my computer is still not turning on. I am now getting one long beep followed by three short beeps, followed by a very long beep afterwards. Fans and light still turn on. Am I now looking at a RAM issue? This is frustrating.

CPU cooler might not be tightened correctly, or some pins might be bent, but that does indicate DRAM. Pull your memory out and try one stick at a time and see what happens first before messing with the CPU mounting.
Thanks for the advice.

I've tried one stick at a time in both slots using each stick, as well as swapping sticks. Didn't work at first, then I reset the CMOS (shortening the pins) and reseated the GPU, and that seemed to get my computer to show display. The computer is running at a degraded mode right now, the resolution is like at 720 or 480. I immediately tried updating the GPU but there was an error. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to continue T/S'ing, but I'm hoping that if I update my computer again it should get to working. I'll post what I find later.
