Question GPU Video output dies while gaming

My MSI Gtx-1070TI's video output dies when I try to play games, however I can still hear the game and it doesn't actually crash. When I screenshare I can still see the screen perfectly fine in the stream when the signal dies. It passes all the benchmarks I throw at it with no problems, no video dying or anything. When I undervolt the card, reduce the clock and increase the power limit in MSi afterburner it does work without these things happening. Any idea what could be causing this?
