Hi!
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P
GPU: Asus Nvidia GTX 1050

I have this strange problem, my system works fine when my GPU is in the PCIex4 slot but when I try it in the PCIex16 slot my computer starts up and all, but i cant get a signal from my GPU, I haven’t touched any settings in the BIOS!

Any advice or help is welcome! Thx for reading and thx in advance!

If I put my GPU in the x16 the computer starts up, inc my GPU because the fan is spinning, I just cant get a signal from it, I dont really know why
Sounds like the slot has a defect. But it would be nice to verify with a different gfx card. On the positive side, the x4 lanes slot is sufficient to get full performance from the GTX 1050 if you are stuck with not being able to return the board.

Yea i tried again and resetting my BIOS while it was in the x16 but it couldn’t boot.
Oh well it does indeed work perfect in the x4 and i also thought I wasnt getting full performance cause of it.
But thx for helping me! Ill just leave it as it is :)

Yeah, as long as you don't run a card much more demanding that the GTX 1050, it won't saturate the PCIe interface @ x4 lanes.
