I bought an MSI GTX 1070 8GB Gaming X at the very end of last November for around $699 AUD. The reason I didn't wait longer was because the Christmas break was coming up and I didn't want to spend the two whole months I had to game with performance wise (for my standards), measly MSI R9 380 4GB. The GTX 1080 was also out of my price range.
I do gaming at 1080p 144Hz in usually ultra settings at around 70-130fps depending on the game. I'm quitting gaming this year to focus on my final year of schooling, but next year I want to get back into it again and I'm going to build a new system - hyper threaded quadcore i7, 32GB RAM, the lot (I do video editing and shit also).
If I wanted to run for example.... AC Empire or any other 2018 game like that, then would a GTX 1070 be sufficient for 1080p gaming at above 70-75 fps ultra / very high settings in the majority of games?
Thanks
